Jay Ebersohl, P.E.
President, Chief Executive Officer Mr.
Ebersohl brings 16+ years of experience with Aerospace Engineering
and Corporate Management. Jay is the company founder and
incorporated Advatech in 1995. Jay's engineering expertise is in
flight mechanics and high speed aerodynamics. He created the concept
to integrate analysis software of various engineering disciplines
into a coherent package that allows improved engineering
methodologies and faster engineering cycle times. This concept was
then applied to software for hypersonic vehicle development. He also
led the team in the development of range safety analysis software to
predict the hazard posed to aircraft from missile test debris and
discovered a new control method for hypersonic vehicles using
magnetohydrodynamics. Prior to founding the company, Jay was a
member of the technical staff for TRW Ballistic Missiles Division.
While there, Jay developed an innovative set of analytical equations
for predicting the lift and drag of a class of hypersonic vehicles
with multiple geometric parameters. Mr.
Ebersohl earned his M.S.E. from the
Charles Kondrack
Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Mr.
Kondrack brings over 30 years of experience as a manager with
increasing responsibility in Strategic Planning, Program and Project
Management, Business Acquisition, Operations Management and
Contracting. His technical expertise is in systems integration,
engineering and analysis on Air Force ICBM programs, DOE Nuclear
Waste programs and various NASA/Air Force Launch Vehicle programs.
Additionally, he has initiated and managed several of Advatech’s key
engineering software projects such as the Army/WSMR Aircraft
Vulnerability Model (AVM) for range safety and the ONR/China Lake
Integrated Hypersonic Aeromechanics Tool (IHAT) to assist in the
development of tactical hypersonic strike missiles. Mr.
Kondrack earned his M.B.A. from the
Kenneth Moore
Vice President, Business Development Mr.
Moore brings over 30 years of experience in the Aerospace
environment. During his 22 years of active duty in the US Air Force,
Mr. Moore also held many key positions of responsibility that
include: Test Director for the Air Force's Early Warning Radar
Simulator for the Wright Aeronautical Labs; Test Director for the
Air Force's Automated Tactical Air Command & Control Center (TACC)
System for the Electronic Systems Division; Electrical Engineering
Instructor at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterrey, CA;
Program Manager for AF Space Command's Communications Upgrade for
Cheyenne Mountain, CO; The first Director of Operations for the
Joint National Test Facility at Shriever AFB, CO; Chief, Long-Range
Planning Branch, Secretary Air Force for Acquisition, Pentagon; and
the Director of Joint International Programs for the Unmanned Aerial
Vehicles Joint Program Office (UAVJPO), Pentagon. After his military
career, Mr. Moore joined TRW as a Senior Business Development
Manager for TRW’s Strategic Systems Division. Prior to joining
Advatech, he was the Vice President, IT Programs and Business
Development for a small, Native American company. Mr.
Moore earned his M.S. from the Air Force Institute of Technology in
Electrical Engineering. He received his B.S. from Mr.
Moore is a DoD-Certified Acquisition Professional in the areas of
Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Test & Evaluation.
Additionally, Mr. Moore is a private pilot and enjoys flying,
travel, wood working, reading, and jogging.
J. Thomas Kister, CM
Vice President and General Manager - Advanced
Technology (AT) Division and Acting Vice President and General
Manager - Analysis & Design (AD) Division Mr.
Kister has over 25 years of Aerospace industry experience managing
complex technical programs through the development and application
of progressive management techniques. Mr. Kister possesses a strong
technical background in electronics and manufacturing disciplines
that enhance his leadership capabilities in the management of
challenging engineering development and production projects. Prior
to joining Advatech, Mr. Kister functioned as the Vice President of
Business Management for Ducommun AeroStructures where he was
responsible for Program Management, Contracts Management and
Engineering. His responsibilities included management and
forecasting for the Composite Structures line of products, resulting
in sales growth between $41M to $64M annually. The business base
included Boeing AH-64 Apache and Mr.
Kister is credentialed as a Certified Manager and has earned his
B.B.A. in Computer Science from the
Richard Hora
Vice President and General Manager - Space and
Missiles (SM) Division Mr.
Hora is a highly experienced executive with strong background in
multi-product line management, strategic planning, P&L management,
cost control, and business development. Mr. Hora has five years
experience as CEO of medium sized and start-up businesses, four
years of direct accountability for programs in a Fortune 50 company
and ten years of commercial industry experience, including the
complete restructuring of production systems, and transitions to new
production locations. Mr.
Hora also has a unique background in the launch vehicle environment.
From the mid 1980’s he was in charge of planning, facilities and
master scheduling for General Dynamics Space Systems Division. In
that period he was instrumental in the rebirth of the Atlas launch
vehicle, first with the Commercial Atlas Program, then with the
USAF’s MLV II competition, and the creation of the Atlas IIAS. Mr.
Hora also fostered the division’s successful Space Transportation
Architecture Study, which lead to the division’s leadership in the
Air Force’s Advanced Launch Vehicle Program and, subsequently, the
ALS/NLS efforts with the USAF and NASA. He moved on to head Spacehab,
Inc. There he received unusual exposure to the operations of
reusable vehicles and developed an understanding of the first
generation reusable issues of the Space Shuttle. After SPACEHAB, he
organized Eclipse Space Lines to perform as the operations arm for
the Kelly Space and Technologies reusable launch vehicle. In that
role Mr. Hora was able to implement some of the lessons learned he
had experienced on the STS system. He participated in Kelly’s Space
Transportation Architecture Study for NASA and the Air Force, and
developed the US Mission Model in addition to supporting the STAS
effort in total. Subsequently, while working with ESAI, he supported
the ITAC study by SAIC for
Most recently, Mr. Hora has been Advatech Pacific’s General Manager
for the Space and Missile Division that supports AFRL/EAFB. In this
role he has been responsible for the entire ETIP, AVSMS and CAV-TM
Programs. Mr.
Hora holds a BA from
Joe Holland, Ph. D., P.E.
Chief Engineer Dr.
Holland has over 30 years of experience in nuclear engineering
(nuclear weapons effects analysis, power systems, shielding and
radiation detection), systems engineering, aerospace engineering
(RLVs, ELVs, ICBMs and liquid & solid rockets), integrated design
and analysis tool development and software and network engineering.
As Chief Engineer at Advatech he led the Integrated Hypersonic
Aeromechanics Tool (IHAT) project at China Lake and the integration
of design & analysis tools for evaluating RLV concepts and
performance during ascent (using Missile DATCOM, POST) and descent
(using SHABP, MINIVER, GRIDGEN and a streamline tracer code
developed in-house). Prior to Advatech, Dr. Holland served as Chief
Engineer and Scientist for Kelly Space & Technology. Previous to
that, Dr. Holland was a member of the technical staff at TRW (13
years) and Battelle Northwest Laboratories (3 years). Dr.
Holland earned his Ph.D. at
