Advatech Pacific's Universal Gateway to Telecommunications Equipment (uGATE) Provides Communications Interoperability to first Responders
equipment, having a device that would translate between the systems would have improved the efficiency, the communications, and the management of the relief efforts. Compound that with the number of relief agencies from all over the United States and from all levels of Government, the communications difficulties were enormous and the true value of the uGATE system in these environments can be realized. Simply plugging a radio from each net into the uGATE device would have solved the problem - automatically.
| For example, using the uGATE-C and C Plus would permit each of the agencies involved to talk via their own radios to all other agencies connected to the uGATE-C, without regard to line of sight restrictions, disparate radios or different frequency bands, as well as extend those communications to any command center anywhere in the country (or world, for that matter). |
